Video : Bantu ft Nneka – I’m Waiting

I first heard about Ade Bantu (Bantu stands for Brotherhood Alliance Navigating Towards Unity) when the single ‘Nzobu’ hit airwaves in Nigeria sometime in 1999. Was a new and fresh sound as I recall with the merging of hip hop and afro-beat. This is off the soundtrack for the movie by Andy Okoroafor titled Relentless and has Bantu featuring the electro-pop sensation Nneka.

Music : B-Ice – Kiss and Tell feat. K-Switch

This dude hit me up a while ago with his version of Khalifa’s black and yellow and got featured on my #TGIF quick mix vol 22 with his called touch and follow.
But apparently it was one of the tracks off his mixtape titled “U Can’t B-Ice – The Mixtape”. Here is a new track off the said mixtape that features Mohits recording artist K-switch and was produced by Eloftz.’

Music : Bolade – Time

Came across this new act in the game and believe he is off to a good start.
Bolade is a Nigerian born R&B Singer-Song writer with smooth and soothing vocals. Music has been a major part of his life but he never really sought entry into the music industry even though he wrote his first song at the age of 13. His ability to come up with melodic and rhythmic patterns kept improving with time and he states that “The Love of Music” stands as inspiration to his musical development.
His debut album’s anticipated title is T.I.M.E. It features productions from DSharp Wilson (Code 5, Elektra), Mark Goncalves (Kaysha, Lights Out), Dare “Dre-Sticks” Odunlami, Duncan Daniels, Jay Franco (Fabolous, Usher, Beyonce, Rick Ross), and Clef-Nite. Check out his reverbnation.com/bolade
I look forward to what he can add to the music industry.

Music : Leo Bre featuring Young Bub – Epic Love

Sometimes I feel real R&B music is lost and then something like this comes along. From writer Heart of the Pen comes this classic and that purely my opinion. Produced by Smite and vocals by Leo Bre and featuring Young Bub.

Movies : The Return of Jenifa – Trailer

Yelz! Yelz! The bigz gilz is back with the trilogy to Jenifa. I recall being in Nigeria about 4 years ago and going to see my cousins whom I hadn’t seen in years and after their initial excitement, the next thing they asked was “have you watched Jenifa?”.
That was how big the movie was back then and it might as well have been the biggest venture as far as movies go in 2009. The sequel if I recall correctly wasn’t as big but still rode of the buzz of the 1st work.
Well its 2011 and Jenifa is back with actress Funke Akindele taking us on the quest of a girl with a rural upbringing fighting to be accepted in the urban high class social circle.
To be honest I personally don’t watch much of these movies but this I probably would watch as the 1st was quite entertaining. Plus this feature has as part of the cast Nigerian chart toppers like Banky W and Eldee. Movie will be in theater later this year.
