DJ Don X presents #TGIF Quick mix Vol 27

“It would be inadmissible if I would vent my opinion publicly. Not only could I harm the artist concerned seriously because people have so much respect for me and believe in me because of my musical accomplishments. And I could also antagonize people against me, because everyone has his own taste. We all make music, people can choose from that what they like. Every musician likes his own music the best, man. I don’t want to attack that. I don’t mind criticism, I can handle it, but most people can’t”.

Music: Nayo – Destiny Train & Rhythm of the Sound

Soul/ Jazz singer, vocalist and song writer Nayo. A new face in the Nigerian soul circuit. She was featured on legendary DJ Jimmy Jatt’s album but was featured as an artist called ‘O’.

As you will soon find out, she had an earthly, light, melodic vibe to her music which if you are into soul, you can’t help but love.

She sites Adela Adkins, Janelle Monae, India Arie as a few of her musical influences. The songs featured here on djdonx.com will be on her debut album scheduled for late this year 2011.

Enjoy new sounds.

Movies : Ghetto Dreamz (The Dagrin Story) – Teaser

Deemed the biggest breakthrough rapper from 2009 to 2010 Dagrin was an act everyone wanted to feature on their records and for good reason too. In my opinion he was about to be the best thing to happen to rap since M.I. came out. His death on April 22nd 2010 was the most goggled event in that month due to the disbelief of millions of fans worldwide. He was so significant to Nigeria; so much so that the president of the country paid tribute to him (read here). That barely sheds light into this remarkable individual.
Hence, the movie that is expected to be out April 22nd which coincides with the day he died.
Produced by Ope Banwo and Directed by Daniel Ademinokan.
